Unis Attends Verona BOE Meeting February 10
Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at 2:24PM
As a candidate for the Verona Board of Education, Michael Unis is committed to learning about the issues on hand in the schools. He believes that attending the Verona Board of Education meetings is one method of raising awareness about the goals and interactions of the Board of Education in relation to the Verona Schools. As a member of the Verona Board of Education, Unis will address ways to increase awareness among topics discussed at meetings and the local community. In the coming weeks, he will post a plan for this topic here on the Unis for Verona Board of Education Blog.
Unis prepared the following public statement.
It was uplifting to see over a dozen residents in attendance at the February 10th Verona Board of Education meeting. I hope that these numbers will continue to climb as we move closer to the final revisions of the school budget process.
The school budget is very unique because the public has the ability to vote on its approval on April 21, 2009. Being an informed voter is an important step in making sure our schools are able to provide quality instruction and modern tools to the students that will lead to future success.
The next Verona Board of Education meeting will be held on February 24th at 8:00PM in the Verona High School library.
